Rada Europy przy współudziale Europejskiego Stowarzyszenia Studentów Prawa ELSA zainicjowała projekt mający na celu uczczenie 60 rocznicy Europejskiej Konwencji Praw Człowieka.

Projekt jest skierowany do studentów prawa w Europie, a w szczególności do członków Europejskiego Stowarzyszenia Studentów Prawa.

Pod sloganem konkursu „ Nasze Prawa, Nasze Wolności” kryją się dwie części projektu, a mianowicie esej i raport fotograficzny , które mają ocenić osiągnięcia i niedociągnięcia Konwencji i Europejskiego Trybunału Praw Człowieka jako organu monitorującego proces stosowania postanowień konwencyjnych.

Tematem pracy konkursowej będzie znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie „ Jaka jest rola wolności słowa w społeczeństwie demokratycznym i gdzie są jej granice?” Tematyka relacji zdjęciowej ma obejmować wpływ sytemu ochrony praw człowieka na codzienność Europejczyków.

I am pleased to present a project developed by the Council of Europe in cooperation with ELSA (European Law Students Association) intended to mark the 60th anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights. The project is a competition open to law students in Europe and in particular to members of the European Law Students Association (ELSA). ELSA is the world's largest non-profit making, student association which brings together 30,000 law students from 200 law faculties in 40 countries. Under the slogan 'Our Rights, Our Freedoms', the competition - divided into an essay and a photo report - is designed to appraise the achievements and shortcomings of the Convention and of the European Court of Human Rights, its monitoring organ. The subject of the essay competition is ‘What is the role of freedom of speech in a democratic society and where are its limits? The photography theme is the impact of the Strasbourg human rights protection system on the everyday lives of Europeans.
